Frequent Questions

Is Harvest more interested in their client's investment returns, or promoting a Christian agenda?
Harvest Financial's commitment to our clients is to provide investment returns consistent with their risk tolerance. And, although investment performance cannot be guaranteed, Harvest strives to offer those investments and strategies that have demonstrated stronger than average historical earnings. Our commitment to promoting Christian ideals and initiatives is carried out through the Harvest Foundation, Inc.

The Harvest Foundation, Inc. is separate from Harvest Financial and is run completely independent by its Board of Directors and staff. And, although the Harvest Foundation, Inc. receives its primary funding from Harvest Financial, this separation allows each to focus on their own commitments.

Does choosing Harvest mean I will sacrifice performance?
No. One of the main goals held at Harvest is that we continue to offer our clients the same investment options they have become familiar with; while striving to provide strategies that offer increased investment returns. (Past performance is no guarantee of future results.)

What is a Target approach to investing?
Simply put, a Target approach to investing seeks to "target" those companies within a certain sector or index that have favorable earning potential over other companies within the same sector or index. As the major indexes have their own criteria of selecting, in their opinion, the "best" companies; the "target" approach aims at the best of the best. These companies are held for a predetermined period, and then re-evaluated. The theory is to consistently hold the companies that provide the sector or index's main growth.

When I choose Harvest, what happens to the funds I have now?
That answer really depends on what you would like us to do for you. If you are happy with the funds that you currently own, but you like the philosophy of Harvest and want to work with a firm that shares your same Christian beliefs and values, you can simply have your account moved to Harvest. This costs nothing, and does not change anything pertaining to your existing investment(s); it simply allows Harvest to service your account going forward.

If, however, a different strategy would better serve your needs, your Harvest Advisor will gladly assist you in the transitioning of your account.

How does Harvest differ from other Christian investment companies?
That answer is a little more complicated. As you may well know, the types of Christian investment companies differ quite a bit. From fee-based biblical perspective investment plans, to offering and promoting socially responsible investments, the types of companies and the way they do business is broad. At Harvest, we are an investment firm. Our Advisors work to assist you in creating and managing your investment portfolio. And, while our corporate philosophy is centered on Christian biblical principles, our investment philosophy doesn't deviate from proven financial practices.

We do believe that where and how you invest your money should line up with your beliefs and values; we simply promote those beliefs and values through other avenues, such as, the Harvest Foundation, Inc. We don't believe that your investment portfolio performance should suffer because of it.

Is it difficult to switch to Harvest?
Not at all. If you would like to transition to Harvest without changing your current investments, this is usually done using one form. If you would like to implement a different strategy, change your current holdings, or open a new account, a Harvest Advisor will gladly answer any questions you may have and complete the necessary forms.
